
What is AMVETS Career Center?
AMVETS Career Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, chartered in the State of Ohio to provide employment, career, and training assistance to veterans, active duty military personnel, the National Guard and Reserves who have served honorably.

Who is eligible for assistance?
It is not required for you to be an AMVETS member to receive help from AMVETS Career Centers.
However, you must:
- Be a veteran, an active duty service member, on the Ohio National Guard, or be a member of the Reserves.
- Have served, or be currently serving, with honor. Evidence of your honorable service, such as a DD-214, is required to receive assistance.
- Be a resident of Ohio, belong to an Ohio AMVETS post, or be a member of an Ohio-based Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve unit.
We have affiliated career centers in western New York, Illinois andNashville, Tennessee. The service guidelines are a little diffeent in these states. Please contact the centers directly for specific guidelines.

The career services provided by AMVETS Career Center are free. If additional assistance is needed which AMVETS Career Center cannot provide AMVETS will find the best solutions that provide high value, low cost services.

What types of services do you provide?
AMVETS provides access to a full range of career and employment services. Depending on the individual’s needs, those services may be provided by AMVETS Career Centers, or by a service partner.

Why can’t my family get help too?
AMVETS Career Center is a nonprofit organization that is governed by IRS regulations. Services can be provided for free only to veterans and service members who have served or who are serving honorably. Career services can be provided to family members, as well as members of the community, but payment is required.
Exception: Career services can be provided free to the spouse and children of troops if (1) the service member is stationed on active duty outside of Ohio and (2) the spouse and children are residents of Ohio. When the service member returns to Ohio, the free services end.
